A graduate of Tohoku University and Obihiro University, Dr. Hasegawa holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a PhD in agricultural studies. Her professional affiliations include the Japan Ethological Society, the International Society of Applied Ethology, the Japanese Society of Applied Animal Behavior, the Japanese Society of Livestock Management, and the Japanese Society of Animal Sciences. Throughout her career, she has accrued a number of proud achievements, including her research into the effect of grazing yak behavior on material circulation and floral diversity in the eastern Tibetan Plateau, in Quinghai Province, China. A grantee through the Japanese Society of Promotion Sciences, she has also been recognized many times for her professional accomplishments. Since 2009, Dr. Hasegawa has been featured in numerous volumes of Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
