It's Back to School Time and Time to Choose Healthy Snacks for Your Kids

Healthy snacks while at school and when they come home do not have to be complicated, time-consuming, or expensive.

"Eating healthy snacks can provide children with the nutrients they need to feed their brain and maintain a healthier lifestyle," says Mustafa Behan, founder of Amsety Bars.

CARLSBAD, CA, August 15, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Over the last 30 years, children's lifestyles and environment have changed tremendously in a world that has become increasingly fast-paced and overly processed. Childhood obesity is on the rise, many children already suffer from risk factors for heart disease, such as high cholesterol, elevated blood pressure, high triglycerides. Additionally, many children now suffer from type-2 diabetes, raised insulin levels and even liver disease, typically triggered by unhealthy choices. One very simple solution... kids should stay away from sugar-laden snacks, drinks and high fatty foods. Sugar creates excess insulin, which can lead to increased fat production, fatty liver and obesity.

Nutritious eating is not always a priority, as families are always "on the go" rushing to various time-sensitive appointments. So what can a parent do to help their child get on the path to a healthier lifestyle? One solution, have Amsety Bars on hand to grab for a healthy snack on it's, own or mixed in with other healthy treats. Amsety Bars include a specific blend of vitamins and minerals, called the Super 16, that were developed by Liver Health experts, designed for liver health & a healthy lifestyle. Best, there is no refined sugar, they are gluten-free, low in sodium and organic.

"Eating healthy snacks can provide children with the nutrients they need to feed their brain and maintain a healthier lifestyle," says Mustafa Behan, founder of Amsety Bars.

Healthy snacks while at school and when they come home do not have to be complicated, time-consuming, or expensive -- just creative. Here are six quick and easy snacks that your child can enjoy after school, which can be easily prepared the night before ready to eat the next day.

Peanut Butter & Chocolate bites - Take your Amsety bars and cut them into bite sized pieces. Put a handful in a snack bag and drop them into your child's lunch bag for a special sweet treat.

After School Mini Pretzel Mix - Mix together a batch of mini pretzels, cashews, raisins or dried cranberries and small cut up squares of an Amsety Chocolate Bar instead of chocolate chips. Keep the mix in an air tight container and put some in a small bowl for that after school treat.

After School Trail Mix Snack - Take your favorite low-fat granola mix and add your favorite dried fruits, such as apricots, some sunflower seeds and Amsety Peanut Butter bars cut up in bite sized pieces. Keep the mix in an air tight container and put some in a small bowl for that after school treat.

Kid Friendly Nut Snacks - Have some fun mixing together your child's favorite nuts with Amsety chocolate and peanut butter bars, cut into bite sized pieces. Because there are often nut allergies with friends at school - this makes a perfect after school snack.

Safari Snacks - Kids love eating most finger-food snacks, so why not make them healthy? The classic combo of celery and peanut butter comes to life in our version that uses animal crackers and can be garnished with fresh fruit bite or chocolate Amsety Bar bites.

No-Bake Almond Granola Bites - These chewy fruit and nut bites make a wholesome replacement for salty, store-bought snacks. Mix up the six-ingredient recipe after dinner, and they'll be ready to pack in your child's lunch box (and your own) by morning. In a large bowl, stir together 2 1/2 cups quick oats, 1/2 cup dried cherries (chopped), 1/2 cup chocolate Amsety bars cut into ite sized pieces, and 1 cup slivered almonds. In a small bowl, stir together 2/3 cup each of agave nectar and unsalted, sugar-free almond butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add it to the oat mixture and blend until all the ingredients are well coated. If the oats seem dry, add more agave nectar, 1 teaspoon at a time, up to 1 tablespoon. Line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper. Transfer the granola to the pan and press it evenly into the bottom. Cover it with plastic and refrigerate until set, about 4 hours.

From breakfast to snacks, there are all kinds of healthy and tasty choices for kids heading back to school. Small tummies often need more frequent food intake. A plan of eating every three hours or so throughout the day, can help to sustain energy levels and mental processing. So make a list of possible snack options and share it with your children. Ask them which ones they might enjoy and make a list for each child. Let them think of other healthy options to add to their list. This discussion can be a great teaching tool. If you pack a food without asking about their preferences, your healthy snack may end up getting traded with another child or thrown in the trash.

After you have created your snack lists, note the needed ingredients on your grocery list and go online to www.amsety.com to have the bars delivered straight to your door. With a little preplanning, your child will be well-fueled and nourished throughout the day and ready to conquer the busy life of being a growing child and student.
