Graffiti/Street Art Contest Calls for Artists and Judges

"Art on a Can" Contest Calls for Artists to Paint on the Sides of Shipping Containers in new business park for a $1500 Grand Prize

    FORT WORTH, TX, August 29, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Box Office Warehouse Suites, a new business park built of over 100 shipping containers in the Alliance area invites urban street artists to participate in the "Art on a Can" Contest. Participants, who will receive $1,000 each, will compete for a $1500.00 grand prize and 5 artists will be chosen to create a 7.5 x 20-foot mural on shipping container walls at Box Office Warehouse Suites.

"We created this contest to celebrate graffiti artists and their dynamic energy and talents. We are going to connect the Arts and Business in a way Fort Worth has never seen," says local developer, Ron Sturgeon.

Box Office Warehouse Suites is calling for artists and judges to participate in the "Art on a Can" Contest. Mural criteria are as follows:

- Only original works of art will be allowed.
- Mural should cover about half of the container wall (approximately 20 feet.)
- The artwork must be inspirational, entertaining, informative, and positive.

The contest is a juried competition by three selected judges. Judges must exhibit exceptional skills and knowledge in art impression and creativity and more. The three selected members of the jury will $250 for contributing their knowledge and providing their time plus an invitation to the "Art on a Can" festival in May of 2017.

The "Art on a Can" festival will display the artists' murals to the public and will then be scored by the three selected judges. The winner will be announced on the day of the festival which will feature live bands, free food, contest giveaways and artisan displays in shipping containers.
