Lesley Lowe Israel Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

Mrs. Israel has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of politics



    ROYAL OAK, MD, August 31, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Lesley Lowe Israel a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Israel celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. A retired political consultant, Mrs. Israel first served as the director of media for Humphrey for President from 1966 to 1967 and again in 1972. She also served as the director of scheduling for Bayh for President in 1971, as well as special assistant for Jackson for President in 1975 and 1976, and served as a coordinator of national labor for Kennedy for President from 1979 to 1980. By 1981, Mrs. Israel had moved into the role of senior vice president for Kamber Group in Washington. Remaining in position for six years, she then formed Politics, Inc., in Washington as president and CEO, until fully retiring in 1995.

Very present in her community, Mrs. Israel dedicated a lot of her time to organizations relative to her work experience. She served as a member of the Democratic Site Selection Committee in 1990, a member of the national commission for ADL since 1991 and member of their national executive committee from 1994 to 2015, international election monitor and coordinator through USAID, president of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington in Rockville, Maryland, treasurer of the International Foundation Election System from 2006 to 2016, international election expert for the U.S. Department of State since 1997, and chair of the Avalon Foundation in 2009. She was appointed by U.S. President Barack Obama to the Commission for the Preservation of American Heritage Abroad in 2016.

Earning a BA at Smith College in 1959, Mrs. Israel was honored as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women by Washington Magazine in 1990. She also received a Special Service Award for her work by the Jewish Community Center earlier in her career, in 1984. Included in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Politics, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who of American Women, Mrs. Israel has been married for 56 years to Fred Israel. Together, they had two children and five grandchildren.
