Foundation for Family Preservation Opens its Efforts to Hurricane Harvey & Hurricane Irma Families

501(c)3 seeks assistance for families who have requested help and to expand their current efforts.

WASHINGTON, DC, September 08, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Foundation for Family Preservation is seeking assistance to offer support to families in the form of care packages, travel assistance, and other emergency assistance. These services will be available to families that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey in Corpus Christie, Houston, Austin and other areas aiding Hurricane Harvey response efforts. This assistance will be in the form of online support, phone call support, and in-person support. The total amount of people currently affected by Hurricane Harvey are 364,000 as of September 1st. The organization has also extended their efforts to families affected by Hurricane Irma

The Hurricane Harvey relief aid began on September 1st. The Foundation for Family preservation will accommodate those requests for as long as necessary. Often times family support services as a unit are not the sole focus of relief efforts. The Foundation for Family Preservations aims to meet the relief needs of every member of the family, together.

"Using innovative thinking and professional empathy with a technology focus is our biggest strength in not only dealing with disasters but helping alleviate further crisis", one case manager with the Foundation for Family Preservation was quoted as saying." By being proactive and staying focused on the needs of each and every family member, not only are we ensuring that we help families overcome their tragedies as a unit, we also make sure that they are not subject to further crisis that families are so often vulnerable to."

Often times services don't address the family unity as a whole. The program for Hurricane Harvey & Hurricane Irma families will include family services that will give care packages to every member of the family. We will help with medication and travel costs on a case by case basis. We will also support the families as they are going through their tragedy with case management services. This can also include but is not limited to financial organization, time management, and other life skills that can often be forgotten in a devastating, grief stricken process.

Hurricane Harvey hit the Gulf Coast early Saturday with winds over 135 mph and devastating floods in some areas. As of Sunday, 6,100 people were in shelters prepared by the American Red Cross, and the organization expects the number to rise to at least 30,000 later in the week. Hurricane Irma is still in progress as of this writing and the total affects of the devastation is currently unknown. Hurricane Irma has been named "The most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricane in recorded history." All U.S. residents have been requested to evacuate.

The Foundation for Family Preservation operates nationwide, serving every state in the United States and all US territories. While officially opening their doors earlier this year, volunteers have been operating since 2009, helping over 2500 families nationwide. Their current sponsors include, but are not limited to Google, Salesforce, LexisNexis, TechSoup, Sage, eBay and Paypal.

The Foundation for Family Preservation offers innovative family services to families that have been displaced through natural disaster, economic disenfranchisement, and family law situations where the focus of family preservation has been overlooked.
