Havoc Investigate the Common Traits of Successful CEOs

The sales and marketing firm have recently delved into the debate on the traits commonly found in successful CEOs.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, September 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a bid to decipher the difference between Introvert and Extrovert leaders, Havoc have been learning all about The Genome Project, a study conducted over ten years by consultancy company ghSmart. The project specifically investigated the following:

Are there specific attributes that are predictive of becoming a CEO?

What attributes do boards look for in a CEO, and are they predictive of success?

About Havoc: http://www.thisishavoc.co.uk/about/

The research was conducted on nearly 2000 business owners, by a team of 14 researchers with specific expertise in psychology, economics, finance and data science, in a bid to identify the common traits displayed in the most successful leaders.

This week, Havoc has been discussing the following 4 key traits uncovered by the research:

1) The ability to decide with speed and conviction
2) The ability to engage everyone
3) The ability to adapt proactively
4) The ability to deliver reliable results

Havoc wants their contractors to consider these findings and attempt to aspire to hone in on these traits, implementing them in their own professional careers. They believe most people in the sales and marketing industry aspire for career progression and believe this research is an important step towards understanding what it takes to be a good leader.

On top of these results the research also challenged certain misconceptions of C-level leadership. Most notably the fact that the most successful CEO's are often thought to have flawless track records. Instead, it was found that those leaders without a squeaky clean, A star career background, were the best at their jobs. Over half of the CEO's had experienced major career blow-ups that had ended in the loss of a job. Havoc want their contractors to realise failure is a necessity of sorts for effective professional development. While everyone fears failure, it is often a necessary force to motivate humans to make a change, and as such it should not be feared.

James Sweetland, Managing Director of Havoc, has weighed in on this point, applying it to operations within the sales and marketing industry. He explained; "The first few weeks in the industry are undoubtedly tough. Many new recruits feel like as though they are failing, but it is these moments that often spur them on to work harder and reach their maximum potential."

Moving forward, Havoc hope this report will provide insightful knowledge and inspiration for their workforce, prompting them to accept that failure can be a positive but also the traits they need to work on in order to progress in the industry.
