Pei-Hsuan Su, PhD, Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

Dr. Su has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the fields of art and higher education



    NEW TAIPEI CITY, TAIWAN, September 25, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Pei-Hsuan Su, PhD, a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Su celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Taiwan native Dr. Su has been in academia for the past 12 years, first as an assistant professor of art at Ming Chuan University for five years and, since 2010, as an associate professor of art at National Taiwan University of the Arts (NTUA), college of design, department of visual communications design, where she has also been serving as department chairman since 2015. During her years of teaching, she has also upheld several other responsibilities in the university's Taiwan Teaching Resource Center, including serving as head and coordinator for events like the Section of Zen and Cultural Creative Research and the Section of Cross-Disciplinary Research and Teacher's Life-Long Learning. Her research focuses on the intertextuality of visual arts, exhibition design, and semantic design.

Dr. Su's creativity has led her to show off her talents at various exhibitions over the past few years, including at the International Spring Conference and Exhibition at Pukyung National University in Korea in May 2015, the International Special Winter Exhibition of the Korea Society of Basic Design and Art in Barcelona, Spain, in February 2016, and the Joint Exhibition of Professors Creations at the Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts and National Taiwan University of the Arts in Japan in October 2017. In the field, she has had the opportunity to work as a curator for a special exhibition of the Winners of the R.O.C. Executive Yuan Cultural Medal Award, National Museum of History, in Taipei, and for the "Cross the Sound and Vision: The Exhibition of Cultural Creative Design and Innovative Technology" for the International Exhibition Hall at the National Taiwan University of the Arts.

Dr. Su has also worked as a director on two different films: "The Practice of Prajnā (Wisdom)" and "Seeking the Answers: Thoughts of Buddhist Arts and Indian Culture." Additionally, from 2015 to 2017, she served as a chief editor for several conferences, exhibition portfolios of NTUA's graduate students, and the "Cross the Sound and Vision" exhibition. Dr. Sue is also the author of the books "Viewers and Codes of Images: A Series of Semiotic Study and the Cross-Media Interpretation, Chan (Zen) and Art" and "Latticework of Arts and Its Cultural Representation."

A member of the Asian Society of Basic Design and Art, the Taiwan Teaching Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Taiwan Society of Basic Design and Art, and the Huafan Cultural and Educational Foundation, Dr. Su has been the recipient of numerous accolades throughout her career, such as a 2015-2016 Scholarship of Achievements on the Academics and Arts Creation by the National Taiwan University of the Arts, a 2013 Outstanding Teacher Achievements Award by the National Taiwan University of the Arts, and a 2006 to 2008 Outstanding Advisor Award by Ming Chuan University. She has also been named to the 32nd and 33rd editions of Who's Who in the World.

Dr. Su received a Bachelor of Art at Tung-Hai University in 1991, a Master of Fine Arts at the Institute of Art Studies at National Cheng Kung University in 1996, and a PhD at the School of Visual Arts at The Pennsylvania State University in 2003. One of three siblings to father Mao-Sung Su and mother Chin-Sao Yen, Dr. Su enjoys calligraphy, photography, merging creative images, and critiquing art.
