Trygve Edward Myhren Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

    DENVER, CO, September 25, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Trygve Edward Myhren a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished communications company executive, Mr. Myhren draws upon more than 50 years of experience in his position as the president of Myhren Media Inc. Located in Denver, the private investment firm concentrates primarily in the areas of traditional media, telecommunications, software, and related enabling technology. In recognition of Mr. Myhren's communication knowledge and business acumen, he has been featured in a wide range of honors publications. These include Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and Who's Who in the World. He received the Distinguished Leader Award by the National Cable TV Association in 1988, the Humanitarian Award from Josef Korbel School of International Studies at University of Denver, the annual Humanitarian Award from the non-sectarian National Jewish Medical Center, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from The American Jewish Committee and he has been inducted into the National Cable Television Hall of Fame and the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame.

Prior to pursuing a career in communications, Mr. Myhren served as the editor-in-chief of his high school newspaper, and wrote for the Associated Press and The New York Times while he was in college. It was through these experiences that he found his true calling in marketing and general management. Mr. Myhren attended Dartmouth College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and political science in 1958, as well as an MBA, from the Amos Tuck School in 1959. Early in his career, he served as a sales manager and unit manager for Procter and Gamble before joining Glendinning Cos. as a senior consultant. In 1970, Mr. Myhren assumed the role of president of Auberge Vintners. During this time, he also held the position of executive vice president with Marketing Continental. From 1973 to 1975, Mr. Myhren served as the vice president and then President of CRM, Inc. He joined American TV and Communications Corporation in 1975, rising from the rank of vice president of marketing to president within five years. Between 1980 and 1988, Mr. Myhren served the corporation as the chairman of the board and CEO. In late 1988 Mr. Myhren opened Myhren Media, Inc. consulting to Fortune 500 companies and serving on the Boards of five significant public companies. In 1990 he assumed the role of President at the Providence Journal Co. in Rhode Island where he grew the firm substantially, founding The Food Network and Northwest Cable News, while co-founding E! Entertainment and four other Cable Networks. He led the company through a very successful IPO on the NYSE and dramatically increased the value of the company's stock.

In addition to his current role as the president of Myhren Media Inc., Mr. Myhren maintains contact with the Cable TV Administration and Marketing Society, for which he served as president from 1978 to 1979. The society named him the recipient of the Grand Tam Award in 1985 and the One of a Kind Award in 1994. Mr. Myhren is a co-founder of the Cable Advertising Bureau and Colorado Business Committee for the Arts. He maintains active involvement with the Colorado Forum and is a former chairman of its higher education committee.

Mr. Myhren takes great pride in having maintained the highest level of integrity throughout his career. For more than two decades, he has served as a trustee with the University of Denver, was Board Chairman from 2009-2014 and named Chairman Emeritus in 2014. He is a member of the board of the Denver Art Museum. Mr. Myhren is also noted for playing a major role in the promotion of the U.S. Paralympic Ski Team and served as USA Chief of Mission at the 2006 Paralympic Games in Torino/Sestrierre Italy.

Mr. Myhren served as a Naval Officer with the U.S. Pacific Fleet from 1959-63.
