Dr. Lee entered his profession to cure sick people, and has achieved success in that goal as both an associate professor and director of urology at Inje University, Ilsan Paik Hospital. He studies the surgical and medical diseases of the urinary tract and reproductive organs, giving patients suffering from ailments in those areas a new lease on life. Born in Republic of Korea to Changhaeng Lee and Youngja Park, Dr. Lee holds both an MD and a PhD, and is certified with the Korean Board of Urology. As a researcher and physician, he has been tapped to join a number of public health committees in his country, notably the assessment committee of clinical guidelines at the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and the publication committee of the Korean Continence Society. At present, Dr. Lee teaches as an associate professor with the urology department of Inje University, which started as a nonprofit civilian surgical clinic.
Dr. Lee serves concurrently as director of the urology department at the associated Ilsan Paik Hospital, where he specializes in voiding dysfunction, incontinence, kidney stones and urological oncology. The hospital is well equipped to enable Dr. Lee's medical treatments, and he works with four other doctors in the department who address a variety of conditions.
Dr. Lee is very proud of his publications, in particular a study published in the World Journal of Urology on the muscarinic receptors of ovariectomized rats. The work informs similar analogues with human anatomy, shedding light on overactive bladder conditions in humans. Dr. Lee is a member of the European Association of Urology, as well as the Korean Urological Association, the Korean Continence Society, and the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences.
In coming years, Dr. Lee intends to continue excelling in his professional position. He is happily married to Jin-Eui Hong, with whom he has had a daughter, Sangeun Lee, and a son, Donghyun Lee.
