Rabbi Leslie Keiter Tannenwald Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

She is an award winning teacher with years of experience in the area of special needs and counseling and also serves as a tutor on subjects in Judaism and specializes in Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah training.

She now serves as President of Jewish Life Services and has done so since 1993, and from 2009 to 2014, Rabbi Tannenwald served as a rabbi at the Jewish Family Workshop. From 2007 to 2015, she was a research associate at the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute. She has served as a rabbi and religious leader at multiple religious institutions, including the Temple Emmanuel in Chelsea from 2001 to 2006, Congregation Agudat Achim in Medway from 1999 to 2001, and Sherborn Congregation from 1995 to 1997. She has served as a religious school director for the Falmouth Jewish Congregation, education director of the congregation of the Temple Shalom Emeth in Burlington, and educational consultant to the Bureau of Jewish Education in Boston.

Rabbi Tannenwald began her career in 1977 as a senior associate of Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, subsequently serving the organization as an officer and member of the board of directors. Certified by the state of Massachusetts to act as a social worker and teacher, she holds the title of Damsel of the Imperial Order of the St. John Ecumenical Foundation. She is the author of "Understanding the Holocaust," "Awakening: Alternative Creative Learning Techniques," and "Curriculum, Male and Female," which won her an honors award. She also has published articles on interfaith weddings in professional journals and newspapers.

Rabbi Tannenwald is a member of the National Alliance of Professional and Executive Women, the Alumni Association of Benjamin S. Hornstein Program in Jewish Communal Service, the Association Jewish Community Personnel, the Interfaith Federation of Rabbis, and the American Jewish Congress. She has been awarded by the Institute on Leadership Development and Fundraising with the Leadership Award. She has also been featured in Who's Who in the World and numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who of American Women.
