Attorney Ms. Haft has enjoyed close to 50 years in the legal field, beginning as a staff counsel with ACLU National Office in New York City in 1970 and a career in politics and government service. Today, she is the owner of her own law firm, the Law Offices of Marilyn G. Haft, P.C., representing clients in entertainment and digital media and specializing in the business and legal affairs of the multimedia and communication industries, including film, television, digital, and publishing sectors. Taking great pride in representing those working behind-the-scenes, such as writers, directors, producers, journalists, production companies, distribution companies, and investors in media, her enthusiasm for the field is unwavering.

Since 1987, Ms. Haft has been actively involved as a film producer. Some of the films she has been involved as a producer include "In a Shallow Grave", "Preston Sturges: The Rise and Fall of an American Dreamer" and the Sundance Film Festival films "Grace is Gone", "Birds of America", Diminished Capacity" and "Handsome Harry." Her involvement in the entertainment business has not only been a rewarding experience, but has also been greatly beneficial as an attorney, giving her necessary perspective when it comes to representing clients. Ms. Haft's financial background has also served her well as she continues to present live webinars on topics of business and legal issues in independent feature film financing, production, and distribution for a company called Lawline, a subscription-based business that provides live webinars nationally for continuing legal education credits required for those in the legal profession.

More recently, Ms. Haft served as partner at Duval & Stachenfeld, LLP (2004-2010) and The Marshall Firm (1997-2004) as well as at Tanner, Prop & Farber (1993-1997) and Fischbein, Badillo & Wagner (1990-1993) and as of counsel for Summit, Rovins & Feldesman, and upheld an entertainment law practice in New York, NY, from 1981 to 1989. During her career, she has authored and edited "Prisoner's Rights Sourcebook" in 1972 and "Rights of Gay People" in 1973; she has also authored "Time Without Work" in 1984. She was an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, and an Adjunct Professor at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she taught entertainment law to graduate and undergraduate film students.

Prior to her career as an entertainment attorney, Ms. Haft was involved in civil liberties, politics and government service. She was a staff lawyer at the National Office of the American Civil Liberties Union from 1970 to 1975, and then a full time consultant at NBC News from 1975-1976, when she went to Washington, D.C. to become Deputy Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Administrative Affairs (1976-1977). She then became as Associate Director of the Office of Public Liaison in the White House where she was a liaison with organized interest groups including human rights, the arts, and business (1977-1978) and the Deputy Counsel to Vice President Walter F. Mondale in the White House (1978-1979). In 1979 she became a Director of the Primary Campaign for the re-election of Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale in New York City, and from 1980-1981 served as a U.S. Representative to the United Nations serving primarily as the U.S. Representative to the U.N.'s third committee. She continues her association with the U.N. to this day as the President of the Friends of the World Federation of the United Nations Associations (WFUNA) an NGO with the U.N. that has over 100 member countries.

Happily married to Dr. Jay B. Adlersberg, with one daughter Samantha Bowser from a previous marriage, Ms. Haft has been recognized every year since 2008 for her work in entertainment and sports law by SuperLawyers. She has also been featured in more than a dozen issues of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who of American Women. Admitted to practice by the New York State Bar in 1969, the United States Supreme Court in 1973, and the D.C. Bar in 1978, Ms. Haft first completed her undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College in 1965, followed by a JD at New York University in 1968.
