Tao Xin Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    BEIJING, CHINA, October 13, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Tao Xin with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Xin celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Chinese culture is renowned for valuing education, and places the responsibility for the young on professionals like Dr. Xin, who serves as a professor with Beijing Normal University. Dr. Xin is a psychologist who simultaneously serves as deputy director of both the National Assessment Center for Education Quality at the Ministry of Education and the Collaborative Innovation Center of Assessment toward Basic Education Quality. Dr. Xin has held the title of professor with Beijing Normal's School of Psychology since 2005.

Dr. Xin currently serves with his alma mater, where he earned a BS in Psychology in 1992. He went on to complete a MEd and a PhD with the School of Psychology, and taught with the institute through 1999. In July of that year, he accepted a position as a visiting scholar with the David O. McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University in Utah. His sojourn to American shores allowed him to attend coursework at Columbia University in New York, where he earned an MS in applied statistics and a PhD in Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistics from the university's Teachers College. Back in China, Dr. Xin was appointed a full professor of Beijing Normal in 2005.

As deputy director of two evaluating centers for education in China, Dr. Xin's recent research has spanned everything from computerized adaptive testing to education measurement and evaluation. He won the Second Prize at the Fifth National Education Science Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2016, as well as the Second Prize at the 13th Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2014. Dr. Xin was selected for inclusion in the 2009 to 2010 volume of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.

As a significant contributor to the education industry, he serves on the editorial boards of Psychological Development and Education as well as Acta Psychologica Sinica. Dr. Xin was part of the 2014 National Talents Project, and chaired the local organizing committee of the 2015 International Meeting of the Psychometric Society. He continues to serve as a member of the Chinese Society of Education, as well as an adviser with the assessment research centre at the Hong Kong Institute of Education, consultant with the United Nations Children's Fund, and an executive committee member with the second experts committee of the curriculum material development for compulsory education at the Chinese Ministry of Education. Since 2005, he has taught with Southwest University as an adjunct professor.
