Dr. Su Min Kim Celebrated by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Electronics Engineering

Dr. Kim will serve as primary investigator for five research projects until 2019

    SIHEUNG-SI, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 09, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Su Min Kim has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by many years of experience and invaluable contributions to his field, Dr. Kim is currently an assistant professor in the department of electronics engineering at Korea Polytechnic University. His research interests span numerous areas, including wireless communications, communication and information theory, statistical signal processing, link adaptation, and wireless scheduling algorithms. Prior to obtaining his current position, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Gyeongsang University, and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Additionally, Dr. Kim was a research assistant and teaching assistant for KAIST, and completed an internship with Samsung.

An alumnus of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Inha University, Dr. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a Ph.D. In order to remain current with changes in his field, he maintains alignment with the IEEE, The Korea Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, The Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering & Science, and The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences. Throughout his notable career, he has been recognized for his work in the field. He earned a travel grant from the Ericsson Research Foundation, as well as the 17th Samsung Humantech Thesis Prize Silver Award, and the 18th Samsung Humantech Thesis Prize Bronze Award.

Over the years, Dr. Kim has conducted a wide range of research projects in his field. From 2015 to 2019, he will be serving as primary investigator for five different research projects on such topics as the development of a smart secure control-box system for next generation IoT environments, and virtual full-duplex buffer-aided relaying. He has also worked as part of the technical staff on a plethora of other projects. In addition to being invited to speak by institutions such as Gyeongsang University and Chungnam National University, Dr. Kim has acted as co-publisher for more than 60 international and domestic articles on wireless information, joint link adaptation, joint design of beamforming and user-scheduling in multi-cell MIMO Uplink Networks, and wireless access network virtualization. In addition, Dr. Kim holds six international patents and 17 Korean patents.
