Caron F. McCracken Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Dedication to Career and Community

Ms. McCracken is a highly motivated IT/ Management Consulting professional, recently retired, but continuing some consultative efforts in new arenas, while at the same time expanding volunteer-based involvement in the community

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI, November 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Caron F. McCracken has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

From a very short stint as a secondary school teacher and several years as college adjunct instructor, to consulting professional in IT/Management Consulting, Ms. McCracken has reached higher throughout her entire career. Although nominally retired, she is currently reaching out to do more for both her community and profession. Since 2006 she has been working in volunteer roles with a Bloomfield Hills, MI, nonprofit organization using her technical and business skills as well as contributing in projects oriented to assisting in that community. Ms. McCracken, employed mainly in IT consulting management roles as part of several entrepreneurial and Fortune 50 firms since 1981, retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2016.

Born to William Joseph and Constance Irene McCracken, Ms. McCracken has been a self-starter. She worked her way from Mott Community College to Central Michigan University (BS Honors). Following two teaching assignments, Ms. McCracken earned a degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (MA). Then, after a two-year stint as planning and research associate/manager at the Flint Police Department, she completed pre-med requirements at Wayne State University. However, business became her ultimate interest. She joined SunGard Data Systems in Detroit (1981), serving with that firm until transitioning to the Fruehauf Corporation (1985). Opportunity to experience massive change in telecommunications technology was the invitation for Ms. McCracken to move to the Sprint Corporation, in the Detroit Metro Area. Higher level management opportunities and a move to a significant IT management role informed the choice of Technology Specialists in Richmond, VA, before arriving at PwC in 1992. An MBA (was accepted to the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Society, 2003), with a finance focus, was earned in 2003 from Wayne State University.

Ms. McCracken has had an active avocational/volunteer career as well. In retirement, she currently serves in a number of volunteer capacities within her large Roman Catholic parish, including leadership roles on one major committee and on one major project team, and participation in a number of other annual projects; writing articles for the parish website; and whatever other opportunities for contribution meld major parish initiatives with her consulting, academic, IT and interest-based skill sets. She is also currently employed as a retail consultant for a nationally recognized public company. During her employment years her volunteer community involvement was also notable. From 2008 to 2012 Ms. McCracken was a member of SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Professionals), the volunteer arm of the SBA. During her tenure at SCORE she created and ran several workshops, including several associated with varying levels of finance for the entrepreneur. She also provided one-to-one consulting with entrepreneurs in various stages of business development.

Prior to her SCORE involvement she was very involved, locally, in the campaign efforts for her U.S. Congressman (2002-2008). As part of this effort, she assisted her representative in a number of research projects. In one, on trademark infringement (especially by China), the effort informed a bill the Congressman co-sponsored and which became law in 2006. In another, tax research gave the Congressman talking points for a number of stump speeches. Finally, deep research done on the China banking system (2004) for other purposes, provided an unusual informational source on a topic few were even aware of at the time. That information coupled with other similar information, sought by the Congressman and his Chief of Staff, provided a solid contribution to his campaign efforts over the years. Information from a study done by Ms. McCracken as part of her MBA, on the Asian Currency Crisis of 1998-1999, was also welcomed by the Congressman and his top staff. While contributing to the campaign, Ms. McCracken also was elected four times as precinct delegate for her district.

Ms. McCracken has volunteered over the decades on a number of projects for the Metro Detroit community at-large. Some of these include projects at the Coalition on Temporary Shelter, Core Cities, and Paint the Town ~ all in the City of Detroit.

Ms. McCracken's MBA academic efforts were recognized in 2001 with membership to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. She was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who of American Women, as well as the 1998 to 1999 volume of Who's Who in Media and Communication and the 1991 to 1992 volume of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
