Oliver Wendell Welch Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    LUBBOCK, TX, November 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Oliver Wendell Welch with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. A retired pharmaceutical executive, Mr. Welch was born in Jacksonville, TX, and spent his entire career living and working in the northeast. Starting at the bottom in 1962, he was hired as a pharmaceutical representative and supervisor of marketing research and manpower development for Warner Lambert Company in Morris Plains, NJ. Spending 10 successful years with the organization, he then pursued other options, where he earned the opportunity to work in New York City as a manager of corporate development for Boehringer Mannheim Corporation.

Three years later, Mr. Welch became the vice president for Biomedical Data Company in the city. In 1977, Mr. Welch landed the role of associate director and deputy director of regulatory affairs with Sterling Winthrop Inc., an American global pharmaceutical company, where he remained for 17 years until his retirement in 1994. For a short time following his retirement, Mr. Welch did consultant work for Sanofi Winthrop, Inc. in 1995. He is a longstanding member of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, the Drug Information Association, and the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.

Mr. Welch earned his undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University in 1952, and a Master's degree at Columbia University in 1958. Included in more than 50 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in America, Mr. Welch was married to the late Wanda Virginia Urrey for 68 years.
