Elizabeth Mary Novak Seaver Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

A teacher who dedicated her time to students of all ages, Ms. Seaver worked in both the public school and private school systems, as well as at the college level for 41 years.

An accomplished listee, Ms. Seaver celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. A teacher who dedicated her time to students of all ages, Ms. Seaver worked in both the public school and private school systems, as well as at the college level for 41 years. Spreading her love of music across state lines, she first taught as a music teacher for the Chicago Diocese from 1959 to 1968, during which time she also served as a supervisor of music education. Relocating to Iowa, she subsequently taught as an adjunct professor at Luther College in Decorah, IA, for North Winneshiek Community School in Decorah, IA, and for Tama Community Schools in Tama, IA. By 1972, she had moved to the Sunshine State, where she spent the next 28 years teaching, first as an adjunct professor at Brevard Community College in Cocoa, FL, for two years, and the remaining years with Orange County Schools in Orlando, FL. Ms. Seaver attained retirement in 2000.

Certified in music in the state of Iowa and a certified music teacher in the state of Florida, Ms. Seaver was an accompanist with the Brevard Community Chorale in the early 1970s, and an accompanist and supervisor with the Chicago Catholic Teachers Group for several years in the mid-1960s. She continues to participate as a member of the Bell Choir and St. Magdalen Church, Altamonte Springs, Florida since 2005.

While teaching in the Florida school system, Ms. Seaver was a compiler for the Parent Teacher Association school programs for 17 years. She was also active with the Council of Catholic Women, the Special Olympics, where she serves as a volunteer supporter, and the Down Syndrome Organization. She is currently active in the Orange County Retired Teachers Association and The United Arts of Central Florida.

Ms. Seaver earned a Bachelor of Music from Alverno College. In 1968, she earned a fellowship for music administration and supervision from the University of Michigan, where she completed a Master of Music in 1969. Subsequently, she became a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda at University of Michigan in 1969. Included in Who's Who of American Women twice, Ms. Seaver was married to Robert Nicholson Seaver until his passing and has two children - a son who has Down Syndrome and a daughter who is a Diplomat in the U.S. State Department.
