Chul Kwon Kim Celebrates 25 Years of Practiced Industry Experience in Psychiatry

Dr. Kim won the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association's Best Article Award in 2002



With more than 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Kim has worked as a professor in the Dong-A University College of Medicine since 2001.

    BUSAN, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 30, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chul Kwon Kim has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With more than 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Kim has worked as a professor in the Dong-A University College of Medicine since 2001. He has also served as the head of the Busan Metropolitan Crisis Intervention Center for Women and Children from 2009 to 2015, the Busan Metropolitan Mental Health Commission from 2007 to 2015, the Busan Metropolitan Suicide Prevention Center from 2011 to 2014, and the Busan Metropolitan Mental Health Center from 2004 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he was a visiting professor with the UCLA Clinical Research Center for Schizophrenia & Psychiatric Rehabilitation from 1992 to 1993 and again from 1997 to 1998. He has also been an international scientific advisor for the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation from 1995 to 1997.

A graduate of Busan National University, he holds both an MD and a PhD in Psychiatry, as well as a PhD in Film Studies. He is a member of the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association, the Korean and World Associations for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and the Association for Clinical Psychosocial Research. He is the author of "Coping with Schizophrenia," "Psychiatric Rehabilitation for Patient with Chronic Mental Illness," "The Education Manual for Patients with Schizophrenia," "Social Skill Training for Patients with Schizophrenia," and "Schizophrenia and Family."

As an expert in his field, he has been recognized numerous times for his contributions. He was the recipient of the Dr. Paul Janssen Schizophrenia Research Award in 2014, the Ministry of Health and Welfare Award in 2003, 2008, and 2010, and a Whanin Academic Research Award from the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association in 2003. His work has received the Best Article Award from the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association in 2002, 2007, and 2009, and he has received the Governor of Education Award in 2007, the Mayor Award in 2005, and the Medical Association Award in 2004 from the Busan Metropolitan City Government. In the coming years, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
