Dr. Yun received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Seoul National University in 1993, and graduated from Columbia University with a PhD in economics in 2003. After graduating with her doctorate, Dr. Yun began her career as a fellow at the Korea Development Institute. In 2015, she accepted the position of director and vice president of the Department of Public Finance and Policy, serving in both positions for one year. Most recently, Dr. Yun works at the Korea Development Institute as a professor in the School of Public Policy and Management. She has also applied her expertise in economics as a member of the National Economic Advisory Council from 2015 to 2017.
Dr. Yun's research has been published by the Korea Development Institute, including the articles "Implications of Recent Income Distribution Trends on National Pension Reform Discussions" published in 2016, "Changes in the Relative Importance of the Minimum Wage, Income Support and Employment Support Programs" published in 2016, and "Increasing Gap between Low Pay and Household Poverty and Its Implications on Anti-poverty Policy" published in 2015. In addition, Dr. Yun serves as a member of the editorial board of The Korean Association of Public Finance and Economics, the Korean Association of Applied Economics, the Korean Social Security Association, and the Korean Academy of Health Policy and Management. For her outstanding contributions to the industry, the Korean Academy of Health Policy and Management named her Health Professional of the Year in 2011.
