Practicing from Lindstrom Eye & Laser Center for 30 years and counting, Ophthalmologist Dr. Lindstrom is a well-respected eye doctor that specializes in everything from routine eye exams to various types of eye disease and surgeries. Located in Laurel, MS, the center has been in business since 1987, allowing Dr. Lindstrom to serve the Laurel, Bay Springs, Waynesboro, Ellisville, Collins, Taylorsville, and surrounding areas. Outside of work, Dr. Lindstrom has been an influential deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Laurel since 1978. He has also served on the board of directors for both the Laurel Salvation Army and Good Shepherd Medical and Dental Clinic.

Dr. Lindstrom began his journey in Medicine after graduating from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a 2nd Lt commission in the US Army in 1958 and a MD degree from the University of Maryland in 1963. He then joined the US Army on active duty, completing a rotating internship at Madigan Army Medical Center at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He completed the USAF Basic Flight Surgeons Course at Brooks AFB in San Antonio and was then assigned to the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine at Natick, Massachusetts. He then received the Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health in 1966. He returned to San Antonio to complete the residency in Aerospace Medicine at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine in 1968.

After he completed the residency he was assigned to Vietnam, serving there in a clinical and administrative capacity as the Surgeon, 12th Combat Aviation Group. After returning from Vietnam, he was assigned as the Deputy Commander and Chief of Professional Services and Flight Medicine at Beach Army Hospital at Ft. Wolters, Texas. Thereafter, in 1975 he completed a second residency in Ophthalmology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He served an additional year on active duty as the Assistant Chief of Ophthalmology at Madigan Army Medical Center at Ft. Lewis, Washington.

While on active duty he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the combat Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He resigned his Regular Army commission after fifteen years on active duty and moved to Laurel, Mississippi in 1976 where he has been involved in the private practice of Ophthalmology since that time. He continued his military career as a flight surgeon with the 186th Tactical Reconnaissance Group of the Mississippi Air National Guard after release from active duty. He retired with the rank of Colonel in 1985.

A diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine and the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Lindstrom is board-certified in ophthalmology and aerospace medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons, and the American College of Preventive Medicine. A former president of the Mississippi State Medical Association and Southern Medical Association, Dr. Lindstrom has also been affiliated with several other notable organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the South Mississippi Medical Society, and the Flying Physicians Association.

A member of the surgical staff at South Central Regional Medicine Center and the Laurel Surgery and Endoscopy Center, Dr. Lindstrom was named to the board of trustees of the Medical Center Board, where he's a former trustee and chairman of the board. He also spent three years as a trustee member for the Mississippi Hospital Association board of governors, and has since served on the board of trustees at William Carey University.
