Humane Society Silicon Valley Launches Annual Home for the Holidays Program

$20 Adoptions for All Cats and Dogs this Holiday Season

Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is offering $20 adoptions for all adult cats and dogs from November 24, 2017 through January 7, 2018.

SAN JOSE, CA, December 06, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is bringing back their well-loved and incredibly successful Home for the Holidays adoption program to help end animal homelessness this season. In partnership with the WeCare Alliance -- which includes HSSV and a group of five other Santa Clara County shelters -- HSSV is offering $20 adoptions for all adult cats and dogs from November 24, 2017 through January 7, 2018. In 2016, the Home for the Holidays program connected 774 pets with their forever homes.

During Home for the Holidays HSSV spotlights a number of animals that have been at the shelter for a longer period of time or have particular needs, with the goal of helping them find their forever homes.

This September, HSSV became the first shelter ever to meet all the standards set forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians for model shelters. For HSSV, being a model shelter is about being committed to animal welfare so they can save more lives across the country:

- Animals that come into their care get healthy and stay healthy.
- Animals get opportunities to play and interact with people and other animals to reduce stress and keep them emotionally and mentally healthy.
- Every animal has "right for them" space that's engaging and comfortable for both people and animals.
- HSSV helps other shelters do the same in hopes that they will become the next model shelters.
