    SPOKANE, WA, January 12, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Kyle Mitchell Pugh Jr. with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Pugh celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A talented musician and retired music educator, Mr. Pugh spent 21 years as a band teacher for the Spokane, WA, elementary band program and at the Garry Junior High School in Spokane, WA. From 1984 to 1989, he was also the head of Spokane elementary band department. Mr. Pugh's level of proficiency included playing the tuba professionally for the Spokane Symphony Orchestra for five years, for the World's Fair Expo of 1974, and the Spokane British Brass Band for 15 years, as well as playing the bass for more than 30 years for the Jim Baker Orchestra, the Russ Carlyle Orchestra in Las Vegas, the Many Sounds Nine Orchestra, the Doug Scott Cabaret Band, and the Bruce Davis Variety Pak. He was also a recording associate with Century Records in Spokane, WA, for eight years in the mid-1960s and early 1970s. He is fluent in the piano, tuba, string bass, electric bass, and the accordion.

Born into music, Mr. Pugh's father played the violin and guitar and his mother played the piano. While performing in a band at the Dunes Casino in Las Vegas, NV, Mr. Pugh attended the Lawrence Welk Show, and was subsequently chosen to direct the band. Over the years, Mr. Pugh also earned the opportunity to back Jimmy Dean and several other famous musicians. The author of "Ace the Bass" in 2011, he has also contributed to the newsletter "The Repeater" as editor in 1987, which won him an Amateur Radio News Service Award in 1987. He also acted as an extra in the movie "Always" in 1989.

A certified teacher in the state of Washington, Mr. Pugh earned a BA in Education at Eastern Washington University in 1975. The university later granted him a Distinguished Alumnus Award for his accomplishments in 1999. Additionally, he was the recipient of a Nevada Hollerin' Champ in 1979, and a Distinguished Service Award by the Washington State Commission in 1974, for playing seven straight days per week for six months at the World's Fair. Prior to earning his Bachelor's degree, Mr. Pugh served eight years with the U.S. Naval Reserve.

A lifetime member of the American Federation of Musicians and member of the Spokane Education Association, where he once served as recording secretary, Mr. Pugh is also a member and former 11-year eastern Washington section manager for the American Radio Relay League, and member and former president of the Eastern Washington Music Educators Association. Furthermore, he remains active with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service. In 2010, Mr. Pugh spent time by imparting his knowledge on students via a mentoring music organization called the Master Class Jazz Orchestra. Married to Susan Deane Waite since 1961, with two children and five grandchildren, he has been highlighted in over 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who in the World.
