Riverwalk Counseling Center Achieves Behavioral Health Care Accreditation From The Joint Commission And Opens Gender Based Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs

Riverwalk Counseling Center today announced it has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards.

    NAPERVILLE, IL, January 29, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Gold Seal of Approval is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to providing safe and effective care.

Riverwalk Counseling Center underwent an onsite survey on December 6th & 7th, 2017. During the review, compliance with behavioral health care standards related to several areas, including care, treatment, and services; environment of care; leadership; and screening procedures for the early detection of imminent harm were evaluated. Onsite observations and interviews were also conducted.

Charlene Thobe Scott, Inc., dba Riverwalk Counseling Center has been a part of the Naperville, IL community since 2005, providing individual, couples, families, and group counseling for children, adolescents, and adults in Naperville and Oswego, IL. Specializing in substance use disorders, mood disorders, family therapy, trauma, school issues, and offering Interventions and DUI evaluations/risk education/early intervention.

On February 12, 2018, the Women's Intensive Outpatient Program will open at Riverwalk Counseling Center. "We know men and women may have a different path to substance use issues and need different treatment," she said, "issues with self-esteem, guilt & shame, body image and self-care are unique. Women are acculturated in a certain way that may reinforce this problem. As our society's views toward women are changing, understanding their recovery needs to change as well."

The Intensive Outpatient Program is six (6) weeks, meeting three (3) days per week from 9 am to 12:30 PM. An evening Women's IOP and Men's Program will begin in late Fall 2018.
