Drawing upon more than 45 years of professional experience, Mr. Gregan serves as the president of SMATAX. In this position, he oversees a business that provides a wide range of tax services, including individual tax preparation, corporate tax preparation, partnership tax preparation, all state and military tax preparation, IRS representation, state representation and tax planning. Since the inception of his career, Mr. Gregan has been licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.

Mr. Gregan maintains involvement with a variety of industry organizations, including the Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals, Maryland Society of Enrolled Agents, National Society of Public Accountants, National Association of Enrolled Agents and National Society of Tax Professionals. Most notably, he was selected to be a diplomat to Rome, Italy, in 1973 as an internal revenue agent for 14 countries. Since 2013, Mr. Gregan has served as a member of the board of directors with JP Home. He continues to be recognized as a former member of the board of directors with The Home, Inc.

Early in his career, Mr. Gregan received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from St. Ambrose University in 1970. He served as an internal revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service for one year before joining the Office of International Operations in the District of Columbia. Prior to founding SMATAX in 1979, Mr. Gregan worked as a computer audit specialist with the Office of International Operations for five years.

In recognition of his contributions to the finance industry, Mr. Gregan has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World. He has also been selected for inclusion in the third and fourth editions of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, 28th and 30th editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and 35th and 36th editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business. A respected voice in the field of accounting, Mr. Gregan was previously recognized as a Maryland delegate to the International Society of Public Accountants Convention in 1987 and 1992.
