Carolyn Power Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Power has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the elementary education industry

RICHARDSON, TX, February 20, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Carolyn Power with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Power celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Power is a retired elementary school educator who dedicated her career to enriching the lives of the students she taught. Having been raised by a first grade teacher, Ms. Power naturally joined the education profession as well, receiving a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Central Missouri State University in 1966, followed by a master's degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary two years later. She completed her training under the tutelage of a kindergarten teacher whom she regarded as especially competent and eventually taught kindergarten for many years, finding it both enjoyable and rewarding.

Later, roles as a first grade teacher at Reed's Ferry Elementary School, teacher assistant and participant in the Title III program strengthened Ms. Power's expertise in a number of areas. She was also a summer school principal and kindergarten teacher in the Highland Park Independent School District and gained experience in special education, providing an inclusive environment for students with varying ability levels. In addition to serving on the district benefit committee and writing curricula for the Highland Park school district, she was on the review panel for a mathematics textbook and served on a strategic planning committee for several years.

Ms. Power is affiliated with the Texas Retired Teachers Association, the Association of Texas Professional Educators, Kindergarten Teachers of Texas, Delta Kappa Gamma and Pi Lambda Theta. She was recognized as Bradfield Elementary School's Teacher of the Year in 1999, and was nominated for an award for her participation in an inclusive program with kindergarten students.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Carolyn Power has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
