Lynne Mitchell Foundation Announces 2018 Board of Directors, Adds Three New Appointments



    MIRAMAR, FL, February 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Lynne Mitchell Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the educational needs of underprivileged children in Jamaica, kicked off 2018 with three new appointments to its Board Of Directors. The South Florida-based organization welcomed Chanteya Lawrence, Dave Root, and Silvia Morales to its roster.

"These are very exciting times for the Lynne Mitchell Foundation, as we continue to focus on our mission of helping underprivileged students in Jamaica. We feel even more energized with the added support of our newest board members," said Marlene Gordon, President and Founder of the Lynne Mitchell Foundation. "Chanteya, David and Silvia each bring a special set of talents that we may leverage toward our vision. These talents along with their commitment to helping others complements our existing Board Of Directors. We are delighted to have them join our team and look forward to growing our programs through their efforts and advisement."

Chanteya Lawrence
Chanteya Lawrence is a Senior Director of National Account Sales and Strategic Partnerships for Ally Bank located in Jacksonville, FL. Prior to joining Ally in 2016, Lawrence spent 16 years with Bank of America and General Electric working across multiple industries such as aviation, insurance and financial services. While at General Electric, she earned her Six Sigma Black Belt and graduated from the inaugural class of the Experienced Commercial Leadership program focused on sales and marketing.

Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Florida and Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Florida.

She is active in the community as a Big Sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and serves on the advisory board of the Moore Myers Children Fund.

David Root
David Root is the Director of Promotions and Public Relations for TracFone Wireless Inc., the country's largest no-contract cell phone service provider. Root is seasoned in the marketing and advertising realm, having worked at various agencies that represented a broad range of industries. His career also includes leading various high profile, innovative promotional marketing programs for the Burger King Corporation.

Root graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication. He has been involved with the Lynne Mitchell Foundation since 2015. He is also an avid supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Feeding South Florida.

Silvia Morales
Silvia Morales is a Brand Manager for NET10 wireless, a subsidiary of TracFone Wireless Inc. Prior to her role with NET10, she worked at Pro Colombia and Latin Trade Group, managing various marketing and public relations programs targeting the Latin American market.

Morales attended Florida International University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also holds a Masters of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Humboldt International University.

Morales has been involved with the Lynne Mitchell Foundation since 2015 and volunteers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Feeding South Florida.
