ROCHESTER, NY, March 02, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jack Wolsky with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Wolsky celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Wolsky currently holds the title of professor emeritus at the State University of New York. He began his career at the university as a professor of art in 1959 and served the institute for more than 25 years, officially retiring in 1985. He also applied his expertise in art as a juror for the Monroe County-Greater Rochester International Airport Competition in 2011, and with the New York State Department Transportation Western Gateway Project. Mr. Wolsky also acted as a member of the advisory board of the Rochester Institute of Technology Alumni Association, as a member of the executive council of the Modern Arts Advisory, and as a member of the Rochester and Monroe County Evaluation Committee of the Jewish Cultural Arts Commission.

Mr. Wolsky graduated from the State University College at Brockport with a master's degree in 1957. He also holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York. His work is represented in permanent collections in the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester; at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, NY; at the State University College at Brockport in New Britain, CT; in the Museum of American Art; and in the Rochester Institute of Technology. Mr. Wolsky also shared his passion for art as a volunteer art therapy instructor in nursing homes. He also served his community as an advisor and volunteer with the Rochester chapter of the American Red Cross since 1993, and he previously acted as a member of the board of directors of the Temple B'rith Kodesh and the Friends of School of the Arts.

Mr. Wolsky's passion for art came naturally, and he developed his creative talents as a child. Recognized for his abilities at a young age, his mother often claimed that he was born with a brush in hand. He won an art scholarship in high school, and his career continued from there. He found teaching to be fulfilling and rewarding; he obviously made the right career choice, because his outstanding professorship was commended with a number of awards throughout his career, including the Chancellors Award from the State University of New York in 1979. Mr. Wolsky was also the recipient of the Faculty Exchange Scholarship from the State University of New York, and some of his commendations include the Lillian Fairchild Award by the University of Rochester, the Visual Arts Award by the Arts and Cultural Council of Greater Rochester in 2002, the Rochester Chamber of Commerce Civic Award in Culture and Arts in 1999, the Harry Hoffman Award by the Albright Art Gallery in 1964, the Juror's Award by the Rochester Finger Lakes Show in 1962, and the Kosciuszko Foundation Award in 1963. He was also honored with the State University of New York Faculty Research Fellowship in 1973, 1970, and 1968. His success is not limited to his career; he also celebrates more than 60 years of marriage with his wife, Gladys Mindlin Wolsky. They have three children: Bonnie, Sharon and Marsha.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Jack Wolsky has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
