A retired community health nurse and case manager who spent her career working in a variety of settings in the state of Alabama, Ms. Cleveland first received a Diploma in the School of Nursing at Sylacauga Hospital in Alabama in 1967, followed by coursework at Gadsden State Community College between 1979 and 1982, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, magna cum laude, at Jacksonville State University in 1995.

Returning to Sylacauga Hospital after completing her degrees to begin working as a staff nurse, Ms. Cleveland later served in the capacity of a public health nurse with the Alabama Department of Public Health in Sylacauga, as a staff nurse in the child development center at TCRC, Inc., and the remainder of her career as a homebound nurse with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. Ms. Cleveland has also long been affiliated as a member of the Alabama State Nurses Association, the ARA, and the ASEA.

Currently serving as the Alabama state president of the Baptist Nursing Fellowship with the Woman's Missionary Union since 2015, Ms. Cleveland is also a parish nurse for the organization and is active as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution as a chapter secretary and the state VA representative since 2007. Born in Haverhill, NH, she is a proud mother of two children and grandmother of four grandchildren. She has been included in several editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Nursing, and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare since 1993.
