Roger L. Cason Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

Now retired from 54 years in the chemistry field, Mr. Cason has dedicated much of his professional career to the legacy American chemical conglomerate E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company, better known as DuPont. He entered the company as an engineer and supervisor and served to the title of business analysis manager in 1975, going on to consult for the company into his golden years. Mr. Cason served in the management of DuPont through a period of extraordinary productivity, when the company developed many of its signature materials.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, to Hulsey and Eloise Cason in 1930, Mr. Cason attended the University of Rochester and earned a BSME with high distinction in 1951, followed by a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1952. He served from 1952 to 1955 with the civil engineering corps of the U.S. Navy and joined DuPont in West Virginia immediately afterward as an engineer. In 1963, Mr. Cason became senior mechanical engineer with the company in Houston, Texas, and in 1971, he was appointed staff business analyst with the DuPont location in Wilmington, Delaware.

Mr. Cason applied himself to management, becoming a business analysis manager with DuPont in 1975 and earning an MBA in 1977. In 1983, he went on to become a principal consultant with the company, and in 1993, he made his expertise available as a consultant for profitable and nonprofit organizations. Notably, he consulted with the International Executive Service Corps. In addition to his devotion to DuPont, Mr. Cason is also a prolific hobbyist, and is a member of the Wilmington Power Squadron boating organization, promoting education, civic service, and fellowship in the venerable art of traveling by water. He is a master model railroader and served as a leader with the National Model Railroad Association, as well as a treasurer with the Delaware Chamber Music Festival.

Mr. Cason is a member of the honor societies Tau Beta Phi, Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, and Beta Gamma Sigma. He earned a third Master's degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Delaware in 1998. Mr. Cason also enjoys playing bridge, travel, photography, and model railroad building.

For many years dedication to a legacy American company, Mr. Cason was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, two volumes of Who's Who in Finance and Business, and the 2003 to 2004 volume of Who's Who in Science and Engineering. He is the proud parent of David Allan, Diane Louise, and Nancy Lynn alongside his wife, June Ely Macnabb.
