Dr. Goldberg is a gastroenterologist and clinical researcher who has been affiliated with GI Experts, LLC, in Leesburg, FL, since 2014. He has also been the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Leesburg Regional Medical Center since 2013 and an attending physician at The Villages Regional Hospital, Florida Hospital De Land, Halifax Medical Center and Memorial Hospital for over a span of 35 years.

During the course of his career in medicine, Dr. Goldberg has served in various capacities for Halifax Health, including serving as President of the Medical Staff, on the credentials committee, executive committee, finance committee, utilization review committee and on the Board of Commissioners. He formerly spent time as an alternate delegate from Volusia County in The House of Delegates for the Florida Medical Association, was a member of the Coastal Institutional Review Board and was Chief of Staff and on the Board of Trustees for Humana Medical Center.

An expert reviewer with the Department of Professional Regulation in Florida since 1990, Dr. Goldberg was also responsible for founding the Nutritional Support Service for the state of Florida and established the ASPEN chapter in Florida. In 1980, he founded the first Nutritional Support Organization in the state, and five years later, the organization became the Florida chapter of the group, where he served as chapter president three times. A longstanding member of several other professional organizations, including as a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians, and as former president of the Florida chapter of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, he has conducted multiple research studies during his tenure and has contributed papers and abstracts in the New York State Journal of Medicine, Gastroenterology, and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, among several other publications.

First in his graduating high school class of 1,109 students and a National Finalist of the Westinghouse Science Talent Search and the Ford Future Scientists of America contest, Dr. Goldberg later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry- Summa Cum Laude, and Doctor of Medicine at Cornell University in 1971 and 1975, respectively. Completing his internship, residency, and fellowship in gastroenterology and fellowship in nutritional support at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania between 1975 and 1980, he is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida and is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Notably, Dr. Goldberg was inducted into the Cornell University chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The proud father of three daughters, he has been cited in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1997, as well as many more editions of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
