With 50 years of industry experience to his credit, Dr. Schreiber has worked as a professor at Wayne State University since 1978. During this time, he served the same academic institution as the chair for the Department of Mathematics from 1987 to 1990. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Schreiber held multiple positions at Wayne State University, including associate professor from 1971 to 1978 and assistant professor from 1968 to 1971.

Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Schreiber pursued an education at Yeshiva University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1962. He followed this accomplishment with a Master of Science at the University of Washington in 1966. Dr. Schreiber concluded his studies at the University of Washington in 1968, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy.

Dr. Schreiber has had many opportunities to lecture to and consult with colleagues around the world. He has been a visiting professor at Bar-Ilan University in 1993, 2007, and 2014; Helmholtz Zentrum München in 2007 and 2012; the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1975, 2000, and 2007; the Technical University of Munich in 2007; and the University of Vienna in 2007. Previously, he served as a visiting professor at University of Wrocław in 1993 and 2006, École Polytechnique Fédérale De Lausanne in Switzerland in 2006, the University of Granada from 1999 to 2000, the University of Washington in 2000, and the Université Paris Diderot in 1999. In 1993, he was the visiting professor at the Indian Statistical Institute, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Tel Aviv University and Utrecht University. Additionally, Dr. Schreiber was a visiting professor at Michigan State University from 1982 to 1983, the National University of Singapore in 1992, and UNSW Sydney in 1992.

In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Schreiber remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has formerly been appointed to several boards of directors, including for Jewish day schools and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Detroit. He has also maintained membership with the American Mathematics Society, Mathematical Association of America and Israel Mathematical Union. A researcher in various fields, Dr. Schreiber has found much success as an author, having contributed many articles to esteemed journals.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Schreiber has accrued several accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. From 1968 to 1987, he was a grantee of the National Science Foundation. He was recognized as a Science and Engineering Research Council Fellow with the University of Edinburgh in 1976. Dr. Schreiber has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World.
