Deovina Nasis Jordan Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

The second of eight siblings, Dr. Deovina Nasis Jordan is the daughter of engineer Demetrio Villamor Nacis and pharmacist Fran Bicarme Baptista. She is married to Professor James Lowell Jordan, PhD, PhD.

Dr. Jordan matriculated at the University of Perpetual Help Rizal where she was awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with Honors in 1980. She went on to study at the University of Santo Tomas, earning the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree in 1985. After completing an internship at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital in 1986, Dr. Jordan practiced medicine as a General Practitioner. She is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Dr. Jordan continued her graduate studies. She earned a Master of Public Health degree from Loma Linda University in 2001, achieved a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004, and was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008.

Dr. Jordan worked as a Clinical Nurse for the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute in New York City from 1987 to 1988. She then worked as a Clinical Nurse (Educator, Skills Lab Instructor, Mentor/Preceptor) for Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA from 1988 to 2014. Dr. Jordan is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She was a Relief Nursing Supervisor for the UCLA Health System from 2002 to 2008 and is an Administrative Nurse for Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA.

In addition to her work in the healthcare field, Dr. Jordan has been active in academia. She has been a Professor for West Coast University-Los Angeles from 2006 to 2009 and for California State University, Fullerton from 2009 to 2010. She is an Academic/Education Consultant for Thomas Edison State University.

In addition to being an author of several books, Dr. Jordan is also developing scientific theories. She has contributed many articles to peer reviewed journals and has served as a Reviewer for the following distinguished journals: Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Minority Health, Diabetes Therapy, and Journal of Nursing Practice Applications and Reviews of Research. Dr. Jordan also served on the Research Advisory Board of American Biographical Institute. She received an Outstanding Professional Woman Award from American Biographical Institute in 2001. An expert in the fields of healthcare and higher education, Dr. Jordan has been highlighted in close to 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in the World.

For professional service, Dr. Jordan founded Fil-Am Associates in 1994 and served as its President. She also co-founded Jordan Research Institute in the same year and served as the Vice President. Dr. Jordan is/was affiliated with numerous professional organizations including the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurses Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses, Alpha Tau Delta, Association of California Nurse Leaders, and California Nurses Association.
