Your Spring Auto Maintenance Checklist From Delta Auto Protect

Cleaning off all of the salt and dirt will help keep your car looking fresh, but with only a little more work you can make sure that your car will be running well too.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After a long winter it is always a good idea to give your automobile a once over and make sure it's ready for the spring and summer driving season. Cleaning off all of the salt and dirt will help keep your car looking fresh, but with only a little more work you can make sure that your car will be running well too. At Delta Auto Protect we handle many automotive repair requests and with this routine checklist you can keep your car from any potential risks when driving this spring and summer.

Give all of the fluids in your car a quick check. This includes the oil, brake, transmission, coolant, windshield washer fluid, and power steering fluid. Making sure these are topped off at the right level makes sure you don't add any unnecessary stress on your automobile.

Your engine and cabin filters should be replaced regularly. Give them a once over and consult your owner's manual for the optimal replacement frequency, which is typically around every six months.

Inspect the pressure of all four tires. Reference your owner's manual and ensure that all four tires are filled to the proper level and are not under-inflated. This will cause less wear and tear for the tires. While you're at it, inspect the walls and tread of the tires to make sure there aren't any irregularities or serious wear on the tires.

Check all belts and hoses under the hood. Look at all the hoses which deliver fluids throughout your vehicle. If any of them are visibly leaking or are brittle/cracked have them replaced before they get worse. Similar to the hoses, inspect the belts under the hood when the car is turned off. If they seem loose and brittle have them replaced as soon as possible.

Last but not least, have your automobile's alignment checked if you haven't done so in the last year. This will save a lot of stress on tire wear and should improve the fuel economy and handling of the automobile.

Keep these routines in mind whenever you come out of a harsh driving season, they can save you time and money on any unnecessary repairs that can happen when simple maintenance is ignored.
