With more than 30 years of professional experiences, Dr. Su has been a program professor of mathematics education from 2001 – 2016 and associate professor of mathematics education from 2016 – present with the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). Prior to obtaining her current position, she served as a math specialist with the School District of Palm Beach County from 1999 to 2001, having been an instructional specialist at the same academic establishment since 1998. Earlier in her career, she was a teacher with Pine Grove Elementary School from 1985 to 1998. In addition to her primary roles, Dr. Su is the program administrator and project director of the Emil Buehler Research Center for Engineering, Science, and Mathematics at NSU.

Dr. Su began her career as a student at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1977. She followed this accomplishment at Texas A&M University, completing a Master of Education in 1978 and a Master of Science in 1979 (degree candidate). She returned to her studies at Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a Doctor of Education in 1991.

A respected voice in the field, Dr. Su has written extensively in her areas of expertise. She is the author of numerous textbooks and educational guides, including "Some Ways To…," "Strategies? Tricks? See…," "From Arithmetic to Algebra: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Teaching Pre K-18th Grade Mathematics," and "A Simple Approach to Teach Algebra & higher Order Thinking Skills." She is the creator of Project MIND (Math Is Not Difficult), a mathematics enhancement program which is now being utilized in hundreds of classrooms in the United States, and she has appeared on NBC's Nightly News, on numerous local and regional news programs, and in more than 50 newspaper and magazine articles.

An active leader in her community, Dr. Su is affiliated with numerous professional organizations. The president of the Florida Distance Learning Association, she is also the president and Chair of the Integrated Science and Asian Culture Academy, the president of the Florida Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, and she was appointed to the Council on Homelessness by Governor Bush, for which she was also elected and served as Council Chair. She was on the board of directors for Somerset Charter Schools, and she is a Board member of the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, the Presidential Awardees Association, the United States Distance Learning Association, Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and Soroptimist International.

Throughout her career, Dr. Su has received awards and accolades for her achievements, and she was a grantee of the Annenberg Challenge. She previously received the Palm Beach County Elementary Mathematics Educator of the Year Award, the Distance Learning Visionary Award for Distinguished Leadership, and the National Science Foundation Presidential Award. Dr. Su was honored among Women of Distinction by the Broward County March of Dimes, the 50 Most Successful Businesswomen in South Florida by Fast Track Magazine, one of the five finalists for University Professor of the Year and as Professor of the Year by the Abraham S. Fischler Graduate School of Education at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Su was presented with the Governor's Points of Light Award, the William T. Dwyer Award from the Economic Council of PBC, the Publisher's Community Shining Star Award from the Sun Sentinel, and the International Conference of Technology and Collegiate Mathematics Award. Furthermore, she is the recipient of a Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year Award, the Little Red School House Award for Principals from the State of Florida, and the Women of Distinction Award from Soroptimist International. Having obtained several President's Research Awards, In honor of her life work as a Founding Board Member with the inception of the schoolhouse in Miramar in 1977, on March 13, 2015, students, colleagues and educators gathered to dedicate and rename the Somerset Neighborhood School House to the Dr. Hui Fang Angie Su Neighborhood School House.
