    HARRISBURG, PA, May 11, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Mary Colleen McCann with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. McCann celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. McCann serves as President of McCann-Cannard & Associates, Inc. The firm has provided nutrition and foodservice management consultation to over 200 healthcare facilities and other institutions, businesses and agencies in its 31 years in business. Current clients include correctional facilities, restaurants and food processors.

Highlights of her career include being recruited by Pennsylvania State University to develop and direct its first dietetic internship. Ms. McCann also served as Director of the University's Food Research and Services Program, and was an Assistant Professor at Penn State College of Health and Human Development, where she pioneered the use of computers in nutrient analysis.

Ms. McCann also served the State of Pennsylvania by administering grants which provided foodservice consultation to all of the state's residential institutions, and developed and directed a new administrative subdivision, the Bureau of Foodservice Management, thereby providing a new venue for foodservice consultation to state institutions and agencies.

Ms. McCann has mentored graduate dietetic students from Immaculata College, served as part-time faculty at Harrisburg Area Community College, and provided guest lectures/video conferences at Penn State, Marywood and Indiana of Pennsylvania Universities. She has held various offices in professional organizations including The American Dietetic Association, the Commission on Dietetic Registration, The Pennsylvania Dietetic Association, the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group, and Dietitians in Health Care Communities, among others. She has also volunteered her time and expertise to Save the Children, Pax Christi, ENVISION, and the St. Patrick Cathedral School Development Board.

Ms. McCann holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Seton Hill University and a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh.

She is co-author of "The Charlestown Retirement Community, Phase 1." "Healthy Menus and Recipes for the Summer Food Service Program." and "Self-Assessment Questions." Her work has appeared in Food Management, Corrections Today, Pennsylvania Medicine, and Institutions/Volume Feeding.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. McCann has received numerous accolades and honors throughout her career. She was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Award from Seton Hill University in 2001, Medallion Award (1991) and Outstanding Service Award (1988, 1989 and 1990) from the American Dietetic Association, Certificate of Appreciation (1993-96 and 1988-89) Outstanding Dietitian Award (1987) and Keystone Award (1981) from the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association, and Outstanding Service Award from the American Correctional Foodservice Association in 1979. Ms. McCann has also been selected for inclusion in the 16th edition of Who's Who of American Women and the 1977 edition of Who's Who in Health Care.
