Ms. Sukapdjo has been teaching with Westfield Washington Parks in Indiana for the past six years.

WESTFIELD, IN, May 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Wilma W. Sukapdjo with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Sukapdjo celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A brilliant language educator, Ms. Sukapdjo has been teaching with Westfield Washington Parks in Indiana for the past six years. Teaching French, German, Spanish and Italian to students, she formerly spent nearly three decades as the director at Wilhum Academy, where she also taught for 11 years. She also taught as a French language teacher at Ben Davis High School, Columbus Junior High School and Plainfield High School, taught French at Gadjah Mada University in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, and, early in her career, was a teacher's assistant of French at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Fluent in 15 different languages, Ms. Sukapdjo earned her undergraduate and master's degree at Butler University in Indianapolis in 1958 and 1967, respectively, followed by postgraduate work at Trinity College of the Bible and Seminary in Newburgh, IN. In 1958, she received a NDEA grant for Purdue University; only 30 French teachers in the entire USA received this great honor. During her years at the University of Wisconsin, Ms. Sukapdjo met her future husband Humam Sukapdjo and they eventually moved to Java, Indonesia. An exceptional opportunity, she gained a better understanding of the various religions and how Eastern people think. This was also when she developed an affinity for the Asian people.

Continuing to serve as a volunteer guide with the Eiteljorg Indian Museum in Indianapolis since 1999, Ms. Sukapdjo has also been teaching bible classes at her church for the past 13 years. An elected fellow and lifetime member of the American Biographical Association, lifetime member of the International Biographic Association of England, lifetime member of the Presbyterian Women, and president of the Tomodachi Japan-American Club, Ms. Sukapdjo is also a longstanding member of the Smithsonian Institute, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Japan American Society of Indiana and several sororities.

Honored with a Degree of Excellence in Education for Foreign Language Teaching by the International Biographical Association of Cambridge, England, in 2011 and a Da Vinci Diamond Award in Cambridge, England, in 2006, Ms. Sukapdjo also received an honorary Doctor of Letters from the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England, in 2013. She has been highlighted in more than 25 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women. Married to her late husband for close to 60 years, she has three children, one of whom teaches French.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Wilma W. Sukapdjo has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
