An accomplished listee, Ms. Nyman celebrates many years of experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Ms. Nyman retired as an educator in 1998, having been an administrator with the Quincy College Wareham Campus from 1995 to 1998, a college English instructor with the school from 1990 to 1997, and as a high school English teacher with Wareham Public Schools from 1976 to 1994. Earlier in her career, she served as a college English instructor with the University of Massachusetts, Fisher College, and Boston University from 1959 to 1977 and as a junior and high school English teacher with Malden Public Schools from 1959 to 1962.

Ms. Nyman began her career as a student at Wheaton College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1957. She then joined Boston University, earning a Master of Arts in English literature in 1959. She has been certified as a secondary English and art teacher by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and as a substitute teacher by the New York City Department of Education.

Active in her professional circles, Ms. Nyman is a member of the National Education Association, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association, and the New England Association of English Teachers. She was the co-founder and co-director of the Good Shepherd Nursery School, a director of the Boston University Cape Cod Alumni Association, a library foundation director and trustee of the Wareham Free Library, a member of the Wareham Democratic Town Committee, and the vice chair of the Wareham School Committee.

A respected voice in her community, Ms. Nyman has written several books, including the textbook "Teaching with 50 Great Short Stories." She also wrote "The Season's Edge and Other Poems," "Amos Goes to Smiling Hill Farm," "When the Leaves Fall" and "High School Stories: Short Takes from the Writers' Club." In addition to her love for reading and writing and helping to educate others in the same, Ms. Nyman is a skilled artist and jewelry maker, and she enjoys painting her favorite areas of Maine and Cape Cod. For her work, she received a Prize for Art Jewelry from the Bourne/Wareham Art Association, a Mom's Choice Award, the Helen Meyers Tate Award (Wheaton College, 1955 and 1956), and she was awarded an assistantship in the Department of English at Boston University where she served from 1957 to 1959.
