With more than 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Powdrill currently works as a consultant, having retired from an active career as a production operations manager in 2001. Prior to this appointment, he held multiple positions for Ford Motor Company, such as facilities and industrial engineering manager from 2000 to 2001, power steering gear product line manager from 1998 to 2000, power steering pump product line manager from 1997 to 1998, plant engineering and technical services manager from 1996 to 1997, and both president and production operations area A manager from 1988 to 1995. Previously, he served as a manufacturing manager in the Department of Plant Engineering from 1987 to 1988, engineering and facilities manager from 1980 to 1987, plant engineering manager from 1978 to 1980, supervisor of the plant engineering section of the Indianapolis plant from 1974 to 1978, and plant engineer for the Chassis Division from 1973 to 1974. Mr. Powdrill began his career as a plant design engineer from 1969 to 1973.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Powdrill pursued an education at Gonzaga University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1969. He continued his academic efforts with a Master of Business Administration in 1973 at the University of Detroit Mercy. He concluded his studies in 1984 at Indiana University, graduating with a Master of Public Administration in environmental policy. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Powdrill was licensed as a professional engineer and certified as a plant engineer in the State of Indiana.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Powdrill has participated in numerous endeavors in his community. He served on the Environmental Rules Board for the State of Indiana from 2013 to 2017 and as chair of the Water Pollution Control Board from 1986 to 1991 and from 1994 to 2014. In 2004, he was a member of the Government Subcommittee of the Indiana Government Efficiency in the State of Indiana. On the Mayor of Indianapolis' Technical Advisory Committee since 1975, Mr. Powdrill has also held the roles of chair of the Environmental Committee with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, chair of the board of directors for the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center at Marian University, and labor and management delegate to U.S.-USSR Emerging Leaders Summit Conference in 1990.

In addition to his primary trade, Mr. Powdrill remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has maintained involvement with the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers and the Indiana Elks Association. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Powdrill has been selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
