With 45 years of industry experience, Dr. Maloney has been retired since 2007, having most recently worked as a professor at Housatonic Community College from 1993 to 2007, also serving as chair of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences from 2006 to 2007. Prior to these appointments, she was with Norwalk Community College as an adjunct professor from 1987 to 1993. Dr. Maloney began her career as a head nurse of neurosurgery at the NewYork Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center and the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital from 1962 to 1965.
Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Maloney pursued an education at Holy Name Medical Center, earning a diploma from the School of Nursing in 1962. A registered nurse in the State of New Jersey, she followed next obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 1982 at Sacred Heart University. Continuing her studies at Fairfield University, she received a Master's Degree in applied psychology in 1986. Dr. Maloney concluded her academic efforts with a Doctorate in educational leadership and behavioral science, summa cum laude in 2003 at the University of Bridgeport.
Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Maloney has participated in numerous endeavors in her professional circles. She contributed to Christ Church Episcopal as a volunteer teacher of English as a Second Language, and she has found much success with her written works as well, having authored "Faculty Participation in the Decision-Making Process: Impact Upon Job Satisfaction at CT Community Colleges" in 2003.
In addition to her primary trade, Dr. Maloney remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She is a member of the American Physical Society, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the American Psychological Association. Furthermore, Dr. Maloney has maintained involvement with the Condominium Christmas Fund, the National Honor Society, the Phi Beta Kappa Society, and Mensa.
In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Maloney has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her impressive career. In 2017, she was recognized by Marquis Who's Who as a Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian as well as an Industry Expert. She was presented with the Award for Teaching Excellence and Distinguished Service from Housatonic Community College in 2004. Dr. Maloney has been selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
