Huixing Yang Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

In 1992, Huixing Yang was given an award for his contributions to chemical kinetics from his alma mater, Peking University.

Mr. Yang began his professional career in his native country of China at Peking University as a teaching assistant from 1960 to 1978. There, he made his way up the ranks to a lecturer from 1978 to 1985 and then an associate professor from 1985 to 1990. He then traveled overseas after receiving a postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Delaware from 1981 to 1982, and later immigrated to the United States in 1990 after receiving a research fellowship from the University of Texas at Austin, which he carried out over the next three years. He then accepted a position there as a research associate from 1993 to 1998, and was promoted to research scientist from 1998 to 2005. During this time, he also served on the editorial committee of two journals, Acta Chimica Sinica and the Chinese Journal of Chemistry, from 1989 to 1993, and has contributed several articles to professional journals.

Mr. Yang has always been interested in science, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Peking University in Beijing, China, in 1960. He is known for his research in experimental and theoretical chemical kinetic studies in high temperature and for his investigation of surface science using the kinetic networks method for estimation of catalytic activity. He is also the first person from China to work with high temperature kinetics. In 1992, he was given an award for his contributions to chemical kinetics from his alma mater, Peking University. He is listed in two editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, three editions of Who's Who in the World, and four editions of Who's Who in America.
