    NEW YORK, NY, September 18, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Andrew C. Hartzell, Jr., Esq. (November 5, 1927) with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Hartzell celebrates many years' experience in his profession, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Serving as of counsel during the last two years of his career at international law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York City, Mr. Hartzell spent 30 previous years as a partner and two years as an associate. From 1989 to 1992, he was Chairman of the Litigation Department. A full-service law firm with approximately 650 lawyers in nine offices across three continents, Mr. Hartzell represented clients in complex corporate litigation. Prior to joining Debevoise & Plimpton, he was an associate with Thompson, Hine & Flory in Cleveland and law clerk for Federal District Judge Irving R. Kaufman in New York City.

Mr. Hartzell was a Note and Comment editor of the Yale Law Journal. He has contributed articles to various legal journals and been a contributor to Antitrust Advisor through McGraw Hill Education. He also wrote, "The Treacherous Snows," which deals with a 1983 family climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

During his career, Mr. Hartzell served on numerous committees, including the Board of Directors for the Friends of Scarsdale Parks, the Board of Architectural Review for the Village of Scarsdale, and the Board of Assessment Review. Furthermore, he was chairman of the Advisory Council on Environmental Conservation. He was the Republican candidate for Congress in the 18th District of New York in 1994. Mr. Hartzell is an elected fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a longtime member of the American Bar Association and member of several avocational organizations, including the Scarsdale Golf Club, the Yale Club of New York, the Town and Village Club of Scarsdale and the American Alpine Club.

After one and a half years of Army service, most in the Occupation of Japan, Mr. Hartzell earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1950 at Yale College and a Bachelor of Laws in 1953 at Yale Law School. He was thereafter admitted to the Ohio State Bar, New York State Bar and the Supreme Court of the United States. Married to Mary Leontine McPhillips since 1954, she has been the driving force behind Mr. Hartzell's ambition in both life and work. They have six children, fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Notably, Mr. Hartzell has been cited in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1987, as well as in many more editions of Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
