THOMAS, WV, October 30, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Rev. Dr. Donna M. Andes with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Rev. Dr. Andes celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Rev. Dr. Andes devoted 21 years of her life as a Franciscan sister in the Catholic Church and many more years in the healthcare field as a nurse. While in the convent, she was permitted to go to the Appalachian Mountains in Thomas, West Virginia where she supervised a home health agency and designed the Cortland Acres nursing home. At the age of 86, after 40 years in the field, she returned to Thomas where it all began.

Early in Rev. Dr. Andes' career, she worked as a supervisor in the operating groom at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, Minnesota, between 1956 and 1958. She then became the director of nursing service at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, Minnesota, from 1958 to 1963 and the director of home health for the Senior Citizen Agency in Thomas from 1969 to 1971. Many years later, in 2001, Rev. Dr. Andes spent time as a nutritional advisor, the same year she began attending and teaching at Life Church University in Warrenton, Virginia.

Rev. Dr. Andes is the author of the 2003 book "Know Thy Enemy: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You." She later published an autobiographical book that teaches how to handle difficulties in marriage, "I Would Do It All Again," in 2018. Both books can be found on Amazon.com. Rev. Dr. Andes has contributed various articles to several magazines and continues writing to congressmen on a number of issues as well.

A longstanding member and former local chapter president of Aglow International, an interdenominational organization of Christian women and men, Rev. Dr. Andes is also ordained with the International Fellowship of Covenant Ministries. She holds prayer meetings, preaches at the Cortland Acres nursing home and ministers with other pastors in her spare time. Between 1993 and 2001, she notably served as a member of the Women Prisoners Fellowship in Warrenton, Virginia. Recently, she became a Biblical marriage specialist for the Hope Marriage Center hotline. One day a week she takes calls and prays with the callers.

Honored several times for her contributions, Rev. Dr. Andes has been cited in the 59th and 60th editions of Who's Who in America and the seventh edition of Who's Who in American Education. A licensed minister and missionary, she holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Marquette University since 1964, as well as a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Theology from Life Church University in Virginia.

After leaving the convent, Rev. Dr. Andes met her future husband while working in Thomas. Tragically passing away just three years into their marriage, she later met her second husband at a prayer meeting. She spent another 28 years with him until his passing. In her free time, Rev. Dr. Andes loves to sew, read, pray, and work in the garden. She also enjoys singing. For more information, visit www.donnaandes.com.
