Kathy Ashe Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    GRAND FORKS, ND, November 02, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ms. Ashe with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Ashe celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. A highly respected teacher with nearly four decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Ashe is currently retired, having most recently served as a special education teacher with the Grand Forks Public Schools in North Dakota, a position she held from 1974 to 2010. Prior to this appointment, she was an instructor at the Grafton State School, now the Life Skills and Transition Center, from 1972 to 1974.

Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Ashe earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1972. She later received a Master of Science in special education from the University of North Dakota in 1987. Additionally, Ms. Ashe was certified as an elementary teacher with special education credentials by the state of North Dakota.

A member of Phi Delta Kappa International, Ms. Ashe is also a member and past president of the American Association of University Women and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She was named North Dakota Teacher of Year by the Council of Chief State School Officers in 1981, becoming both the youngest and first special education teacher recipient of the honor. Ms. Ashe is also incredibly proud of having been able to organize the first graduation ceremony and reception for her students.

Ms. Ashe's civic work is as impressive as her teaching career. She has donated her time and efforts to organizations such as the Grand Forks Education Association, the Special Olympics area management team, the North Dakota School for the Blind Foundation and Development Homes Inc., among many others. In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Ashe was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who of American Women and the 24th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest.
