Andringa with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Andringa celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Demonstrating unparalleled educational focus, Dr. Andringa initially earned a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, from which he graduated with honors in 1963 along with being commissioned a First Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. Deferred for graduate study, he obtained a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education administration from the same University in 1964 and 1967, respectively. Currently a managing partner with the Andringa Group, which he established in 2006, he draws upon a career that encompasses work as the minority staff director of the Committee on Education and Labor for the U.S. House of Representatives, Executive Director and senior fellow for the Education Commission of the States, the Director of Policy Research for the Office of the Governor of Minnesota, a member of the faculty for the Industrial College of Armed Forces, and President of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.

Dr. Andringa's decision to pursue higher education was motivated both by his personal faith and the influence of the president of Michigan State University. Notable in the political arena, he played a vital role in the development of Pell Grants and eventually decided to move his professional focus to improving the CEO and board leadership in non-profit organizations, training or consulting with more than 400. Alongside these accomplishments, Dr. Andringa has excelled as a member of the governance study advisory panel at the Carnegie Foundation and a member of the Newman Task Force on Higher Education, among other notable leadership and organizational roles.

Due to his professional expertise, Dr. Andringa co-wrote "Good Governance for Nonprofits", "The Nonprofit Answer Book" and "The Perfect Search", along with authoring a chapter in "Turnaround: Leading Stressed Colleges and Universities to Excellence." Likewise, he has contributed many articles to numerous magazines and publications. Dr. Andringa has provided leadership in a number of professional societies and associations.

Dr. Andringa has had significant involvement with a number of charitable organizations, including World Vision, International Youth Foundation, BoardSource, Christian Leadership Alliance, Anthem Cares Through Service, Alliance for Board Effectiveness, and many others. He was notably presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Education at Michigan State University in 1978. Though celebrated for his extensive career, Dr. Andringa is most proud of his marriage and his family.
