Dr. Annie Arrey-Mensah MD Celebrates Years of Professional Excellence

Dr. Annie Arrey-Mensah accepted a fellowship from 2003 to 2005 in asthma and immunology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

    SOUTHFIELD, MI, January 07, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Annie Arrey-Mensah, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With years of industry experience to her credit, Dr. Arrey-Mensah has been the owner of the Asthma, Allergy & Immunology Institute since 2007. Additionally, she is associated with Beaumont Health, Michigan State University, Beaumont Hopsital- Farmington Hills (formerly known as Botsford Hospital), the Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University Physician Group, and the St. John Providence Health System. Likewise, she has served on the teaching faculty as an assistant and associate professor in clinical specialty medicine for the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University and on the teaching faculty for the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Arrey-Mensah began her career as a medical officer at the Cameroon Oil Refinery Corporation and at St. John of God Hospital in Nguti, Cameroon. From there, she dedicated service to the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (formerly known as Maryland General Hospital) and the Toledo Center for Clinical Research.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Arrey-Mensah pursued an education at the University of Ibadan, earning a Doctor of Medicine at the University College Hospital Medical School from 1984 to 1989. In the following year, she completed postgraduate studies in immunology where she did a rotational internship in internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria. From 1990 to 1991, she served as a resident in neonatology and obstetrics at the same hospital. Additionally, she completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination 1 and 2 exams, did a pediatric residency from 1997 to 2000 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, and accepted a fellowship from 2003 to 2005 in asthma and immunology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

In 2001, Dr. Arrey-Mensah was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She has received further board certification from the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in 2005. Additionally, she achieved a license to practice in the state of Michigan. She previously held licenses in the states of Ohio and Louisiana. Beyond her responsibilities within the field, she has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has found much success with her written works, having penned many articles for Times and Life Magazine as well as St. John of God Hospital Medical Forum. She has also had publications in allergy immunology in prestigious journals like the journal of pediatric transplantation, the journal of allergy and immunology, and the journal of angioedema. She has completed over 10 research projects throughout her career, and currently has two ongoing research projects.

Notably, Dr. Arrey-Mensah maintains memberships with several prestigious professional organizations, including the American College of Asthma Allergy, and Immunology; the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; the Fujisawa Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; the American Medical Association; and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Furthermore, she is active in the Cameroon Medical Association; the Nigerian Medical Council; and the Adult and Pediatric Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Arrey-Mensah has accrued several accolades and honors throughout her impressive career. She was recognized in 1990 with a Certificate for Best House Officer in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Neurosurgery. The year prior, she was honored with a Distinguished Award in Preventative and Social Medicine and was named an honor student in obstetrics, gynecology and anesthesia.
