With a great passion for physics, Dr. Krause prepared for his career by earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Stuttgart in Germany in 1954. Following this accomplishment, he earned a diploma in physics from the University of Stuttgart in 1957 and the Doctor rer. nat. from the University of Stuttgart in 1960. Currently a consultant at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, a position he has held since 1995, he previously served as a senior scientist with Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 1963 to 1995. Beginning his career as a senior physicist at William H. Johnston Laboratories Inc. from 1960 to 1963, Dr. Krause also contributed to the University of Paris in France as an exchange professor in 1975.

Exhibiting unmatched professional focus, Dr. Krause is noteworthy for his contributions to professional journals as well as chapters he has composed for field-related books. With numerous achievements to his name, most notable is the discovery of x-ray spectrometry based on photoelectric effect. Now a prominent professional in his field, Dr. Krause approached his occupational goals gradually as he set out on his career, demonstrating consistency, motivation and considerable skill.

In order to keep abreast of developments in his field, Dr. Krause maintains affiliation with a number of professional organizations. Currently a fellow of the American Physical Society, he is also a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Sigma Xi Society, The Nature Conservancy and the Smithsonian Institution. Recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Award from 1975 to 1976, Dr. Krause has previously been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
