Prior to establishing her own business, she worked as a teacher with Citrus School District from 1967 to 2001, the Chico Unified School District from 1965 to 2001, and Rosedale Elementary School from 1965 to 1966. Earlier in her career, Ms. Morehead served as a secretary with the planning laboratory at Stanford University from 1961 to 1962 as well as with Track and Field News from 1959 to 1960.

Ms. Morehead initially pursued an education at California State University, Chico, where she earned a Bachelor of Education in 1965. An active leader in her community, she is a member of the California Retired Teachers Association, the Chico Unified Teachers Association, and the Chico Racquet Club. Furthermore, Ms. Morehead previously held the post of president for Omega Nu, charitable organization.

Throughout her career, Ms. Morehead has been celebrated for her impressive contributions to the field. She has been presented with an Outstanding Education Award from the Grand Masonic Lodge, an Outstanding Continuing Service Award from her regional Parent-Teacher Association, and an Outstanding Service Award. Likewise, Ms. Morehead has been featured in numerous publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
