COLLEGE STATION, TX, February 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Yvonna Sessions Lincoln, EdD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Lincoln celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Lincoln is a methodologist and longtime educator who has been serving as a distinguished professor of higher education at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, since 2001. She has also been the Ruth Harrington chair of educational leadership since 1998 and former professor and head of the department from 1991 to 1998. Prior to becoming a faculty member at Texas A&M University in 1991, Dr. Lincoln taught at Vanderbilt University and the University of Kansas and taught and served as a research assistant and resident hall coordinator at Indiana University between 1971 and 1977.

She was the co-author of "Effective Evaluation" in 1981, "Naturalistic Inquiry" in 1985 and "Fourth Generation Evaluation" in 1989. "Naturalistic Inquiry" was notably written with her late husband, Egon Guba. The book, which has since been translated into eight languages, offers a critique of positivism and suggests the ontology, epistemology, axiology, methodology and methods that comprise a naturalistic paradigm for inquiry. She has also co-edited five editions of "Handbook of Qualitative Research" since 1994 and most recently co-authored "The Constructivist Credo" in 2013, also with her late husband. "Credo" includes a set of foundational principles for those wishing to conduct social science research within the constructivist paradigm. It won the American Educational Research Association Qualitative Research Special Interest Group Book Award in 2014.

Dr. Lincoln is a past president of the American Evaluation Association, where she received a Lazarsfeld Prize in 1987. She is also a member, former executive board member, and president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education and member and former national program chairman and vice president of the American Educational Research Association.

Named a distinguished professor by Texas A&M University, Dr. Lincoln was the first female to ever earn the title. She has since been highlighted in the fourth and eighth editions of Who's Who in American Education and the 17th, 27th and 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women. Born in Tampa, FL, Dr. Lincoln earned her high school diploma from Hillsborough High School in Hillsborough County, FL, in 1962. She then completed a Bachelor of Arts in history and sociology from Michigan State University in 1967, Master of Arts in medieval and east European history from the University of Illinois in 1970, and Doctor of Education in organizational theory and program evaluation from Indiana University in 1977.
