John Loring excels as design director emeritus for Tiffany & Co., where he started as the design director in 1979

Over the years, he has designed the stores, merchandise and advertising of the company. One of the items of which he is most proud of is the Atlas watch – the iconic Tiffany watch. During the early years of his career, he also gained valuable expertise with the Museum of Modern Art, the University of California, Davis and the Architectural Digest as well.
A member of the Chelsea Arts Club, Mr. Loring holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and an honorary Doctor of Arts from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. After completing his undergraduate degree, he pursued postgraduate studies through the Ecole des Beaux Arts in France. Throughout his career, Mr. Loring has utilized his knowledge to contribute to a number of creative works, including "The Tiffany Wedding," "Tiffany Parties," "A Tiffany Christmas," "Magnificent Tiffany Silver," "Tiffany Time," "Tiffany in Fashion," "Tiffany Style," "Tiffany Taste," "Louis Comfort Tiffany at Tiffany & Co.," "Tiffany Diamonds," "Tiffany Pearls," "Tiffany Colored Gems," "Joseph Urban," "Tiffany's 150 Years," "The Tiffany Gourmet," "Tiffany's 20th Century" and "Tiffany Jewels."
Additionally, Mr. Loring's work has been featured in one-man shows at the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Hundred Acres Gallery, the Holden Luntz Gallery, Pace Editions, the Galerie de Marignan, Paris, the Galerie Verkauf, Vienna, the Gallery Barozzi, Venice and Milan, and the Long Beach Museum of Art as well as in group shows at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, New York Cultural Center and the Art Institute of Chicago. Due to his excellence in jewelry design, he earned an Artistic Achievement Award from the American Cancer Society, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Museum of Art and Design, a Legends Award from the Pratt Institute, the Edith Wharton Award from the Design Arts Society, the Dallas Fashion Award and the Fashion Group International Award. His works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Boston Museum of Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery. He has designed for the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen for 20 years.
In the coming years, Mr. Loring intends to continue serving as a design director emeritus with the world-renowned Tiffany & Co.
