Earlier in his career, he joined GM/Chevrolet as a manufacturing engineer from 1977 to 1978 before transferring to GM/New Departure Hyatt as a senior controls engineer, GM/Delphi Chassis Systems as a supervisor and plant engineer, and GM/Delphi Automotive Systems as a senior manufacturing engineer between 1995 and 1998.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Jacob also held positions of increasing responsibility with Mando America in Novi, MI, and ZF in Farmington Hills, MI, between 2009 and 2019, and he led functional safety assessments and audits for active and passive automotive safety systems, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. In a career filled with highlights, he is especially proud of the two U.S. patents he has invented, as well as the publication of his doctoral dissertation, which discussed driverless cars.
An expert in his field, Dr. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology from Wayne State University, a Master of Science in science and administration from Central Michigan University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Nova Southeastern University. To remain abreast of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
In light of his professional accomplishments, Dr. Jacob earned a Certificate of Excellence for the BMW Brake-By-Wire Project Letter of Entrustment and a feature in the 31st edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
