Linda Forrest Celebrates Years of Professional Excellence in Music Education

Ms. Forrest composes for the Orffestration Series



Having learned to play both the piano and organ as a child, Linda Forrest has only ever wanted to pursue a career path in music.

    MCKINNEY, TX, April 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Forrest has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After accruing many years of practiced experience in her field, Ms. Forrest retired from her position as a vocal music teacher for Harvest Hills Elementary School. Previously, she found success in the same role with Apollo Elementary School, Trinity Episcopalian School, and New World Schools. Over the years, she worked in a number of positions for the Putnam City Honor Chorus, the Crossings Community Church, and the Northwest Baptist Church. Moreover, Ms. Forrest found success as a private piano instructor as well.

Having learned to play both the piano and organ as a child, Ms. Forrest has only ever wanted to pursue a career path in music. A registered national music educator, she pursued an education at Oklahoma City University, earning a Bachelor of Arts. Ms. Forrest concluded her academic efforts at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Master of Arts in music education.

In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Forrest is affiliated with the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and the Oklahoma Music Educators Association. She is certified in the Kodaly Music Method. Utilizing her expansive knowledge, she has composed for the Orffestration Series annually since 1987. Additionally, she arranged the music book "Boom 'N Tunes." For her industry excellence, she has been honored as an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achiever. Looking toward the future, Ms. Forrest intends to continue enjoying her retirement.
